Global education consultants MYiO has announced the opening of its first office in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

Following the opening of its Nigerian offices in late 2021 in Abuja and Lagos, the company headquartered in St Andrews, Scotland, hopes to meet demand from international students wanting to study overseas.

“[Together with] new university and education partners on board and massive growth in the region we decided it was time for opening an Accra office,” Jamie Hastings, director at MYiO explained.

“MYiO prides itself on being an education company that is focused on quality over quantity”

MYiO now has six student advisors in Abuja, Lagos, and Accra, serving education partners across the UK and the rest of the world in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia.

Hastings confirmed that the company recruits 75% MSc students and 25% foundation, undergraduate & PhD and mostly sends students to Canada and the UK.

“MYiO is [an] education company with various departments that cover working as [an] agent and recruiting students. We host in-country representatives and work with universities and government organisations,” Hastings told The PIE.

“Our setup is also an opportunity for any academic partners to also hire independent in-country representatives to be based in any of our offices and this is where we have seen numerous inquiries coming in for this service,” he elaborated.

“The 2021 and 2022 intakes for overseas study from across West Africa to the UK have been phenomenal,” he continued.

“MYiO prides itself on being an education company that is focused on quality over quantity, and we provide various additional services to our academic partners that will help convert applicants to full-time students,” Hastings added.
