Istanbul Language Academy has signed an agreement with Gazi University to allow the language provider’s students to be exempted from additional language tests in order to enter Turkish universities.

The official Turkish language test TOMER, run by public universities, is a prerequisite for admission to the country’s higher education institutions. Through the partnership ILA Turkey students can gain certification from Gazi University.

“The interest in Turkiye and Turkish universities has been rising continuously in recent years,” ILA Turkey said.

With 48,000 international students enrolled in the country in 2014, figures have increased to reac 125,000 students in 2018.

“This number has risen to 224.000 international students from over 150 different countries even though there was a huge Covid effect in the world,” the company’s co-founder and director Tarkan Ulas noted.

At least 165,000 students in over 178 countries applied for full government-funded scholarships under the Turkiye Burslari program in 2021, he added.

The partnership with the top sixth university in Turkey is the first kind of Public-Private Partnership agreement in Turkey, Ulas added.

Through its sister company Turkishuniversities.Org, ILA Turkey works with 53 private and seven public universities. In 2021, the platform announced a partnership with agency platform Agency Management System.

“We have also representatives in 37 different countries and our goal is to teach over 40 countries to promote our programs and partner with Turkish Universities,” Ulas continued.

“We will run also the first junior summer camp at the Nisantasi NeoTech campus in Istanbul for the 2022 summer.”

Part of SDM Language School, ILA Turkey has been offering English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Turkish courses since 1994. It is also a test centre for the Pearson PTE test.
