Navitas has entered a partnership with a UK institution set up by former Manchester United footballers to offer education to students pursuing careers in media, business, sport and digital.

The deal with University Academy 92 will see the global education provider launch UA92 Global to work as UA92’s international recruitment arm to attract student from across the globe to degree programs awarded by Lancaster University.

“Our partnership with Navitas [will…] enable us to reach an even more diverse range of students”

Navitas will provide a pathway option for international students who want to follow a foundation or integrated year one program as UA92 Global prepares to welcome its first international student intake in September 2021.

UA92 was established in 2017 by Lancaster University and the Class of ’92 – a group of former Manchester United football players, including Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Phil Neville – with a focus on employment outcomes.

Courses at the institution range across business, media, sport and digital areas, and it offers work placements, insight visits alongside regular support through a personal development coach.

“We are delighted to be partnering with UA92 and this new relationship strengthens our existing partnership with Lancaster University,” said Paul Lovegrove, Navitas Universities Partnerships Europe CEO & Global chief operating officer.

“UA92 offers international students greater flexibility to develop their skills and prepare them for their chosen career with access to a network of industry leaders and advisors.”

The institution “relishes working in partnership” its interim CEO Marnie Millard OBE added, “indeed we are formed through close collaboration between Lancaster University and the Class of 92”.

Industry partners include names such as KPMG, TalkTalk and Microsoft.

“Our partnership with Navitas is an excellent addition to the UA92 offer – enabling us to reach an even more diverse range of students and offer another route to a degree,” she said, with Gary Neville noting that the partnership is a “fantastic step” for the provider.

“[Navitas] will be instrumental in helping students from around the globe to experience the unique educational offer that we pride ourselves on at UA92,” Neville said.

The UA92 campus in Manchester “boasts state of the art facilities in Trafford”, close to the Manchester United football stadium, as well as nearby accommodation options at Manchester Apartments at Westpoint and Academy Apartments.

“I warmly welcome this new development which will attract more international students to UA92’s unique degree programs – good for students and good for the overall diversity of UA92 and the local area,” Andy Schofield, vice-chancellor of Lancaster University.
