Canada: Digitary partners with ARUCC

The Association of the Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada has announced Digitary will build the Canadian National Network, providing Canada’s higher education community with its first online platform and national credential “wallet” for post-secondary learners.

Once fully operational, the new network will enable three million learners across Canada to access and share their official digitised post-secondary transcripts and credentials online with 24/7 access.

“We look forward to working with Digitary beginning in July 2020 to help our students access official digitised transcripts”

ARUCC, with the help of its partners, PCCAT, CUCCIO, and CanPESC selected Digitary following a competitive process led by a national evaluation team of close to 30 Canadian HE leaders.

“This partnership with Digitary is incredibly exciting news for learners, the higher education community and our partners,” said Romesh Vadivel, president, ARUCC.

“For the first time in Canada’s history, we will be creating a national, secure digital platform for sharing official digitised post-secondary transcripts and credentials.”

The initiative will give Canadian post-secondary institutions, application centres and hubs the ability to work in partnership with the National Network to exchange official documents with permission of the learner and support their needs, and will offer a bilingual service and support in French and English.

“Having reached this major milestone, we want to thank the Canadian higher education community who have worked so hard to make this dream a reality,” said Charmaine Hack, chair, Project Steering and former president of ARUCC.

“Following the successful conclusion of formalities, we look forward to working with Digitary beginning in July 2020 to help our students access official digitised transcripts, credentials and more.”

The list of pilot institutions, application centres and hubs can be seen here.

Digitary’s technology is used by over 100 postsecondary institutions in Australia, Canada, Europe, India, New Zealand and the US.
