Twin pathway to include business qualification

London-based language school Twin is launching a new pathway program that includes a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business.

The Foundation in Business course will be additional to English language and university study skills.

“We had no hesitation in partnering with Twin on this ground-breaking program”

It is offered in an effort to give students “much greater choice and control over their future” and according to Twin’s chief executive, Caroline Fox, avoid “pushing [our] students down fixed routes.”

“We believe this program could prove to be a real disruptor in the university pathways space,” Fox said of the course.
It “arms students with the tools to access 95% of universities in the UK,” she added.

Twin, has operated since 1993 with colleges in Greenwich and Eastbourne, have advertised the Foundation in Business course both for those who want to get out into the world of work immediately, post-pathway, highlighting the value of a BTEC to employers, as well as for those who “still want the peace of mind of a progression pathway”.

For the latter group, Twin referenced its partnership with the Universities of Derby and agreements with the Universities of Greenwich and Hertfordshire, with “more agreements to be confirmed in the next weeks.”

Martyn Kendrick, deputy dean of the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences at the University of Derby said:

“We had no hesitation in partnering with Twin on this ground-breaking program. In our experience, BTEC students generally thrive on business related degrees at the university, and are particularly well-prepared in terms of enterprise, creativity, problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and in teams.”
