Kings to open pathway at Rutgers Prep

Kings Education has announced a partnership with Rutgers Preparatory School in New Jersey, that will provide international high school students with a pathway into Rutgers University.

Kings will establish an International Study Centre on the prep school’s campus, which will deliver a range of pathway programmes for international students aged 13-17.

The centre is set to open in January of next year, and the students will be taught academic subjects along with English language development.

At the ISC, Kings staff will prepare 13-16 year olds for direct entry into the main school.  It also offers pathways to direct entry into Rutgers University for 10th to 12th year students. Through its American College Bridge Program, 12th year international students can also be prepared to enter any university in the US.

“We will be able to grow the number of students and families that we can support in their educational pursuit of an outstanding programme”

Meanwhile, students are assured progression onto the Kings On Campus Plus programmes at Kings’ partner universities.

Kevin Merges, executive director of global education programs at Rutgers Prep, hailed this partnership as an “exciting next step” for the school.

“Through this partnership with Kings we will be able to grow the number of students and families that we can support in their educational pursuit of an outstanding programme,” he said.

This partnership follows a similar agreement to establish an International Study Centre on the campus of Downside School in the UK, also due to open in 2017.

Despite operating in two different countries, José Antonio Flores, US managing director of Kings Education said the high school level pathway programmes are complementary.

“It enables Kings to provide international students and their parents with a choice of high quality, outcome-focused high school pathways in the world’s two leading international study destinations,” he said.
