BALEAP BUILA Workshop 1: Evaluation of English Language Qualifications
BALEAP BUILA Workshop 1: Evaluation of English Language Qualifications
Date: 22nd July 13:00 – 14.30
Format: Online (MS Teams)
Following the launch of the BUILA-BALEAP English Language Good Practice Guide, the first in a series of three workshops will now take place.
Focusing on Section 1 of the Guide, this workshop will explore how UK higher education institutions make decisions on the acceptance of English language qualifications for entry. It will examine how institutions understand and evaluate a range of evidence, including English language tests, international secondary school qualifications and English-medium degrees (EMI), and how those decisions are supported by clear, evidence-informed reasoning within a multi-layered, well-governed approach to decision-making.
This interactive session is designed for international recruitment, compliance and admissions colleagues involved in English language entry requirement setting, assurance and governance.
Through practical scenarios and collaborative discussion, participants will reflect on current practice and consider how recruitment, admissions, compliance, EAP and academic colleagues each contribute to robust, fair and auditable decision-making.
Details on how to register for this event have been circulated to BUILA members via the mailbase. If you have any questions, please email Edward Chan [email protected] for more information.
