Université Paris-Saclay launches alumni network

According to the university, the community of graduates has potential to reach almost 500,000 members, including engineers, business leaders, start-up founders, doctors, pharmacists, researchers, lawyers and many other professionals.

Created in 2020 through the grouping of several leading French universities, grandes écoles and research institutes on the Paris-Saclay campus, Université Paris-Saclay brings together one of Europe’s largest academic and research communities.

With a strong international presence among its alumni, the network will be “deployed worldwide, enabling its members to connect according to their geographical location”.

The alumni network is open to all graduates from the university’s historical constituent institutions, whether they come from the grandes écoles, faculties, IUTs or the university engineering school Polytech Paris-Saclay, as well as to the new generations trained on the Saclay Plateau campus. Its aim is to foster exchanges, professional opportunities, scientific collaborations and collective visibility.

“This network is far more than a directory. It proudly represents a university that has become France’s voice on the international stage of higher education, research and innovation,” said Camille Galap, president of Université Paris-Saclay.

The platform, launched on February 11, is now open for alumni to register and choose a thematic or geographical group to showcase their professional journey and benefit from a range of services that the university said is set to expand over time. Benefits include preferential rates on selected degree-awarding, certificate and professional training programs offered through lifelong learning, a lifelong email address, and exclusive access to events.

The launch comes amid growing international recognition for Université Paris-Saclay, reflected in its global academic rankings and the prominence of researchers trained within its constituent institutions.

Since its establishment in 2020, Université Paris-Saclay has consistently ranked among the world’s top 20 universities in the Shanghai Ranking, standing as the leading university in France and continental Europe.

The university said in a statement that its unique position “gives its alumni network strong credibility and a distinctive place within the French higher education and research landscape: that of a network firmly anchored among the world’s top universities”.
