SAP and SRH University join forces on digital training

The joint program will see “the next generation of specialists and managers” equipped with practical SAP skills, with the first study groups in computer science having already kicked off this semester at SRH‘s campuses in Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Munich.

And there are plans in place to extend the program to other fields of study including business administration and supply chain management. Students in the program learn skills in areas such as the SAP Business Technology Platform, enterprise resource planning and data analytics.

In the future, these skills will be integrated into over 120 degree programs at SRH’s campuses across Germany, with SAP and SRH working on developing new bachelor’s and master’s programs “that are closely aligned with the needs of the SAP ecosystem” for both German and international students.

“This partnership is an important step toward counteracting the global shortage of skilled workers in the SAP ecosystem,” said Andre Bechtold, president SAP Industries & Experiences. “Together with SRH University, we are creating practical educational formats that optimally prepare young talent for the demands of the digital economy and open up excellent career prospects for them.”

In time, the partnership will develop to involve the SAP Experience Centres in Berlin, Munich and Walldorf and its Learning Centre in Walldorf in the program.

SHR has also expressed a wish to expand its international presence – with plans to open a new location in Bangalore. As part of the collaboration, a partnership with SAP in the Indian city of Bangalore is being looked at.

“Education is the key to the future – and to mastering the digital transformation. With SAP as our partner, we are creating a strong foundation for specifically promoting young talent and teaching them practical skills for a globally networked working world,” said SRH CEO Christof Hettich.

“This partnership is a milestone for practical higher education in Germany and beyond,” added Thorsten Bagschik, managing director of SRH University. “We combine academic excellence with industrial relevance – and thus create real prospects for the future.”
