INTO University Partnerships acquires Kings Education

The strategic agreement between the two pathway giants will see Kings Education keep its brand identity, operating as a distinct group under the INTO umbrella while strengthening INTO’s position as a major player in international education.

Kings will bring its expertise in UK and US university pathways, English language learning, independent K-12 institutions and transnational education partner schools to INTO’s global university partnerships network.

Under the deal, the two organisations are looking at a potential exchange of key programs, as well as new micro-credential and upskilling provision.

The move is being hailed as “an exciting new chapter in the long history of Kings”. Kings Education CEO Andrew Hutchinson said the organisation was “delighted to have become part of such a dynamic and successful group”.

“Together, our combined people, infrastructure, and capabilities will create new opportunities and outcomes for our students and partners,” he added.

Meanwhile INTO University Partnerships CEO John Sykes said the deal represented an “important milestone” for the organisation.

“In a rapidly changing international education landscape, this partnership strengthens our ability to engage students earlier, broaden their study and progression opportunities, and deliver even greater value to our university partners around the world,” he said.

“Kings brings exceptional expertise across pre university, university pathways and transnational education, and together our complementary strengths create a more resilient, more capable, and more globally connected organisation.”

The news follows Kings Education’s “strategic reconfiguration” of its portfolio in March, which saw it close its Beckenham campus as “external pressures” – such as VAT being added to UK private school fees – took their toll.
