GEA expands into Türkiye after merger with EgitimAL

The newly created GEA Türkiye will provide a suite of solutions for students, agents, and institutions across the Turkish and Azeri markets. It will combine GEA’s agency management solutions, admissions screening technology, TNE capabilities and partner network with EgitimAL’s knowledge of the local market, marketing expertise and student counselling capabilities.

EgitimAL, which has a 20-year legacy as one of the most popular education agencies in the Turkish market, will become the marketing and student consulting arm of GEA Türkiye as the organisation strives to make Türkiye a hub for international education.

GEA Türkiye hopes the move will position it as a market leader for Turkish and Azeri students looking at study opportunities in both traditional and emerging destinations, with GEA CEO and founder Freeman Young saying the company is also “dedicated to promoting Türkiye as a rising destination for international students and foreign universities seeking partnerships”.

“This strategic expansion not only strengthens GEA’s presence in the region but also enhances accessibility for Turkish and Azeri students to a broader range of international education options,” he said.

“By leveraging the combined expertise and resources of both organisations, GEA Türkiye is uniquely positioned to deliver tailored support and innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of students and partners alike.”

He continued that GEA Türkiye will work with its recruitment partners, Turkish universities and TNE initiatives to help drive Türkiye’s role in international education and student mobility.

Meanwhile, managing director and partner at GEA Türkiye Burhan Pınarbaşı said the merger marked an “important milestone” for the Turkish market.

“We are creating a strong bridge between Türkiye and the world for both inbound and outbound student mobility,” he said.

“GEA Türkiye will operate at the B2B level with EgitimAL continuing to provide market leading B2C capabilities, working closely with foreign institutions seeking to engage in the Turkish market and Turkish institutions seeking to deepen their footprint and partnerships abroad.”
