IALC welcomes four member schools

The International Association of Language Centres welcomed four member schools in three countries during 2021.

The four schools include Accent Français and Etoile Institut de Langue, both in France, in addition to Edu-Inter in Quebec, Canada, and Converse International School of Languages in San Diego, US.

The inclusion of the new members brings IALC’s membership to 139 year-round schools and summer centres.

Despite the pandemic’s “devastating and on-going effects” on the study travel industry, IALC has indicated that its membership growth is down to the benefits of collaboration.

“IALC members have been able to share best practice advice with each other in order to adapt quickly to the pandemic,” the organisation said.

“The association’s members were particularly proactive in sharing their expertise on how to set up hybrid classrooms earlier in the pandemic.”

Three of the new members focus on French tuition, each located in different countries.

Accent Français in Montpellier welcoming juniors, adults and teachers to the Mediterranean city, while Etoile Institut de Langue is set in Paris’s artistic neighbourhood of Saint-Germain-des-Pré.

Edu-Inter offers Canada as a destination to learn French via a range of French immersion courses.

“The year ahead will likely be another challenge for language schools”

Converse International School of Languages in San Diego boasts small class sizes for “serious language learners”.

During “difficult times”, IALC noted it has been able to offer members support in the form of discounts, industry webinars, new marketing initiatives as well as on-going virtual town hall meetings and year-round global marketing activities.

“Whilst the year ahead will likely be another challenge for language schools all around the world, we look forward to welcoming more quality schools to the IALC family in 2022,” IALC added.
