INTEC renews SA pre-uni program partnership

INTEC Education College in Malaysia has announced a three-year agreement with the SACE International program, South Australia’s pre-university program.

Over 36 years, the partnership has seen more than 4,000 INTEC Education College students graduate from the SACE International before continuing to study at universities worldwide.

“It is important to recognise that the cooperation we are signing today is built on the confidence emanating from colleagues’ efforts at both our institutions,” said Rahmat Mohamad, chairman of UiTM Private Education, which owns the school in Selangor.

Formerly known as the South Australian Matriculation, SACE International has seen 40,000+ students graduate since it was established in 1982.

The “world-leading” program is a passport to leading universities across the globe, including Australia, the UK, the US, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, said chief executive of the SACE Board of South Australia, Martin Westwell.

“Our adaptive curriculum cultivates determined, lifelong learners, and responds to the changing needs of an individual and the rapidly changing world around them, enhancing opportunities and preparing students for life far beyond the classroom,” he said.

“We are looking forward to working with INTEC Education College to grow the SACE International program and to help even more Malaysian young people thrive in education, and life.”

Demand for Australia’s high quality education programs continues, “despite challenging times”, Paul Sanda, minister-counsellor (Commercial) and senior trade & investment commissioner, Australian High Commission, said.

“There is a rich history of education collaboration between Australia and Malaysia”

“The SACE International program provides practical experiences into new ways of teaching and learning as the world becomes increasingly digital,” she said – a sentiment shared by counsellor (Education & Science), of the Australian High Commission in Malaysia Fiona Morris.

“There is a rich history of education collaboration between Australia and Malaysia and the SACE International program provides an important opportunity for future young Malaysians to access a high-quality, Australian pre-university program in Malaysia,” Morris added.

“South Australia prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming destination for international students and looks forward to potentially welcoming SACE graduates from Malaysia, as part of this agreement, to South Australia in the future,” Kristan Dooley, South Australia regional director for ASEAN, of Australian Trade and Investment Commission, Singapore, concluded.
