Global educators: transforming education and sharing success as a vibrant community

Published 26/10/2021

Our purpose as education professionals is to increase opportunities for young people around the world to access modern education, and to enhance collaboration within our professional education community to support learners.

There is an indisputable and universal demand for learning environments that empower students with the skills, competencies and mindset to make informed decisions and take ownership of their goals. Students, and their families, recognise the power in differentiated education and seek a framework aligned to best support their young learners, shifting focus from content to skills, while reducing achievement barriers and impediments to global citizenship.

At Rosedale, we’ve met the nuances of these challenges, identified and bridged gaps with partnerships and a methodology that sets us apart, particularly in the secondary education space. We recognise we must deliver impactful differentiated education, innovate and agile learning solutions, and commit to strengthening the broader global education community.

Delivering differentiated education that secondary students require

Our curriculum is robust, flexible, research-backed and rooted in the Ontario Secondary School Diploma — the world’s most widely recognised differentiated education system — and enhanced by our Transformative Approach to Learning.

Our systematic approach includes five pillars critical to student growth and success: higher order thinking skills, real world problem solving, differentiated instruction and evaluation, personalised learning paths, global preparedness. The pillars support our entire community of schools, teachers and students; learning experiences through curriculum development, instructional excellence, teacher training, student success programs, co-curricular activities.

The strength-based approach is personalised for student individuality with emphasis on higher order thinking skills, encouraging students to move beyond rote learning and inspire critical and creative thinking to address real world issues.

Personal growth is paramount — students take ownership in learning and demonstrating new concepts and skills, cultivate proficiencies necessary for a 21st century learner, and align efforts for university and career pathways. Teachers and administrators lead with data-driven learning analytics, customised programming, comprehensive and practical teacher training, and operational support. In our Global High School Program, students earn the world-renowned and globally recognised Ontario Secondary School Diploma and apply to global universities with the advantage of attending an Ontario high school.

“Traditional education environments are constrained by curriculum development, time and cost”

Innovation and agility in learning

Students trust experienced educators to guide and support learning as they discover new skills and create solutions for our modern and technology-driven world. Traditional education environments are constrained by curriculum development, time and cost—we’ve shifted the landscape with development of ed tech and co-operative solutions that advance teaching and learning, equipping us to deliver life-changing learning outcomes and lifelong success.

Education requires innovation and agility. When the pandemic gripped the globe, our students did not miss one day of learning—digitised curriculum and teaching resources were accessible to rapidly pivot, and provide relief, to our community.

Our Learning Management Platform was tailored to ensure academic integrity, and we continued to enrich student programming through innovative partnerships and utilised our edtech infrastructure to support rich, global programming.

Success as a community of global educators

In four years, our Global High School Program has reached a partnership base of 51 schools in 13 countries. We’ve measured success in many ways, always acknowledging success in our sector is truly a shared accomplishment. Each action we make as global educators shapes future outcomes across our sector, and in a post-pandemic world.

We must commit to strengthening the global education landscape and be accountable to increase the education experiences young learners around the world deserve. On November 18, join us and more than 500 global educators across 18+ countries to launch the Global Education Community at our inaugural Global Education Summit.

Our goal is to promote and enhance innovation, support sector collaboration and continuous development, and ensure sustainable growth in global education. We appreciate the strength and vibrancy in our global education community and hope you’ll to be a part of the movement to reshape the future of global education, together.
