Uni of Kent and ULIP partner on Paris operations

The University of Kent and the University of London Institute will seek to enhance learning experiences at their Paris, France locations as they commit to working more closely as Covid-19 and the Brexit transition period create “challenging times”.

Students at the UK universities in the French capital will benefit from greater resource sharing and linked activities, the institutions has said, providing wider social networks and shared knowledge on the practical approaches to living and studying in Paris.

The universities will deliver joint seminars and lectures, explore the synergies of research engagement, and cooperate on delivering quality education during a “globally uncertain time”.

“This is an exciting adventure to bring together our UK-based educational experiences in Paris and we are looking forward to the new opportunities it will bring for our respective institutions,” Kent’s deputy vice-chancellor for Academic Strategy, Planning and Performance Georgina Randsley de Moura, University of London Institute in Paris chief executive officer Tim Gore, and Kent’s dean for Europe Jeremy Carrette said in a statement.

“We have frequently worked together in a number of ways over the past few years to provide our students with life-changing experiences and opportunities,” they added.

“Through our new agreement, we will be able to improve our offer through the sharing of resources, local knowledge and support.

“It will enhance the student experience and enrich their time in one of the most exciting European cities for art, literature and culture.”

The University of Kent’s Paris School of Arts and Culture specialist postgraduate focusing on advanced, flexible degrees across the arts, including in architecture, history of art, film, drama and literature, while ULIP offers a range of courses.

Its activities in the French capital include an undergraduate program in French Studies, International Politics and Cultural Studies, in addition to hosting a postgraduate community and lively research and public seminar program.

Additionally, ULIP has a number of partnerships with institutions such as Queen Mary University of London; King’s College London and Goldsmiths University of London.
