Kaplan International has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Massey University in New Zealand’s Palmerston North, with initial plans to collaborate on “English language provision, international pathway offerings, consultation services in student recruitment and conversion and a university careers guidance platform”.

“We recognised that we have many interests in common and felt there would be mutual benefits from increasing our collaboration and cooperation,” said Tere McGonagle-Daly, deputy vice-chancellor students and alumni at Massey University, which also has campuses in Albany and Wellington.

“The signing of this MOU represents a high-level agreement to work closer together”

“The signing of this MOU represents a high-level agreement to work closer together and is set to become the basis for more specific talks about how we co develop new programmes to support our students.”

Kaplan – which operates in over 30 countries and works with more than one million students annually – said they would first be focusing on “supplementing the university’s own recruitment efforts to maximise and expand the pathway opportunities available to international students”.

“We then hope to leverage the breadth of assets across both parties to challenge the current educational landscape with a view to new offerings and supplemental support services,” continued Rob Regan, managing director of Kaplan ANZ.

“At every step, both Kaplan and the University will be focused on providing a quality education and a distinctive student experience.”
