Canada: Paragon launches CAEL Online

English language testing organisation Paragon Testing Enterprises has announced that registrations for the online version of the Canadian Academic English Language Test are now open, with the first public test sittings taking place on July 25 and 26.

“We are pleased to launch CAEL Online, which test takers can safely take from their home”

The CAEL Online is the same test that is delivered at one of Paragon’s test centres and the format, content, and reporting scale remain unchanged.

CAEL Online can be safely taken from home and is overseen by a live, human proctor through Examity who will provide online proctoring and identity verification and monitoring for the entire test session.

Paragon explained that it also undertakes a comprehensive secondary identity verification check after the test is administered, and uses an extensive set of its own data forensics to identify any fraudulent activity.

“We are pleased to launch CAEL Online, which test takers can safely take from their homes. CAEL Online is not a temporary measure and is an available delivery method for test-takers looking to take CAEL at their convenience,” said Paragon Testing Enterprises president and CEO, Donald Wehrung.

“We are proud to be a part of the innovation that Canadian companies are bringing to international education, and at the same time, to play a role in the economic recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.”

A spokesperson for Paragon told The PIE News that the organisation will also be launching a weekly live web series on YouTube for its academic test takers – called CAEL Live – to support them with preparation, but also with information on their journey to Canada.

“We’ll be featuring guests from institutions across the country in various student-facing units from recruitment and student services to ESL and subject-matter professionals,” the spokesperson added.
