UCL partners with prestigious French universities

University College London has renewed its dual science masters degree with Parisian institutions Université Sorbonne and the École Normale Superieure, in a move that seeks to strengthen the UK institution’s engagement with Europe.

Students will complete the first year of the two-year Brain and Mind Sciences masters program in London, and the second in the French capital.

“UCL has a rich history of academic collaboration across Europe”

“This is a fantastic partnership for UCL and we’re delighted that UCL is collaborating with Université Sorbonne and École Normale Supérieure in Paris to deliver this exciting MSc program,” the university’s president and provost Michael Arthur said.

“UCL has a rich history of academic collaboration across Europe and by strengthening our ties with institutions that share our values, we hope to sow the seeds for future partnerships.”

The program, originally established to forge research alliances within Europe as a response to, what UCL calls, globalisation in the field of neuroscience, seeks to give students program flexibility.

It provides students the opportunity to explore multidisciplinary perspectives, with theoretical grounding in neurobiological and cognitive research.

Other European academic collaboration the London-based university offers includes a dual undergraduate program in European Social and Political Studies with Sciences Po in Paris.

In addition, the UK institution launched a City Partnerships Program in 2018 to invest in and extend research and teaching collaborations in multiple city locations around the world – with Rome and Paris named as the first two cities.

In the City Partnerships Program, academics at the London university work with partners in a city that they feel are the best in their particular field, according to UCL.
