UED honours 14 schools at Agency Awards of Turkey

The Association of International Educational Counsellors in Turkey, UED, has hosted its Agency Awards of Turkey for this first time since 2013. This year, the awards honoured 14 language schools, which provide the best service to Turkish students and study-abroad agencies.
Educators from around the world, including award winner schools, IALC member schools, who joined the IALC&UED Roadshow, and UED member agencies gathered at the Divan Hotel Taksim in Istanbul on November 10 for the award’s sixth year.

The 14 winners span eight countries, with 10 schools from 10 countries claiming their nation’s best school of the year award. The winners were voted for by executives from a number of the UED’s 36 member agencies, as well as airline and insurance companies students receive services from.
GLS Berlin walked away with the Best Language School of the Year – German award, winning its first award in Turkey for the best German language school.
“We are so thankful about the successful cooperation with our Turkish partners and of course about every Turkish student studying German at GLS,” said GLS’ Group sales director, Laura Gerofejeff.
“Today we really feel honoured about our first award in Turkey for the best German Language School. The UED / IALC event in the beautiful city of Istanbul always is a great opportunity to meet IALC partners and high professional agencies.”
Fellow German school, the Humboldt-Institut received the Best German Summer School 2018 award.
“Our Turkish friends and partners greatly contribute to the popularity of our German courses among Turkish students who represent a significant part of the nationality mix in our schools,” marketing director, Tobias Langenstein noted.
“We are already looking forward to welcoming individual students and groups from Turkey in 2019 and will continue to try everything possible to fulfil the high expectations that our students and partners have concerning the quality of our German courses and the all-inclusive service of the Humboldt-Institut.”
Giorgia Biccelli, marketing manager at Linguaviva in Italy, explained it was an honour to receive 2018 UED Best Italian School of the year for the third time in a row.
“A very special thanks goes to all UED agencies which have nominated Linguaviva and supported our nomination,” Biccelli told The PIE News.
“This award for us means a lot. It means that we are working well together with our partner agents in Turkey sharing common goals and projects with a strong focus on delivering quality services and teaching to our students. We look forward to another year of excellent cooperation with our friends and partners at UED.”
