CEG expands Swedish offer with partnership

Cambridge Education Group has announced its first pre-bachelor’s pathway in Sweden and a partnership with Kristianstad University.
CEG’s ONCAMPUS pathway school in Lund will give international students access to study a bachelor’s degree at Kristianstad or Lund University from September 2018.
The Pre-Bachelor’s Preparation Program is targeted at science students and will take one year to complete.

The partnership with Kristianstad University offers guaranteed places to all successfully completing students from a business pathway onto MSc Business Administration degrees. Kristianstad University is the only Swedish university that offers work-placement-based learning in all its undergraduate programmes.
Students seeking to progress to Lund University will have to meet additional conditions – with options including BSc Mathematics, BSc Physics and BSc Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science.
Jonathan Harms, managing director of ONCAMPUS UK & EU, said the partnership in Sweden will give the company’s students more options.

In the past, master’s degrees in Engineering and Science at Lund University were open to CEG students, after CEG’s ONCAMPUS pathway opened in 2015.
According to Nicola Pegram, marketing manager at CEG, agents recruiting for Sweden have said it is a growing destination for rankings conscious, high achieving students.
“[Sweden] is ranked among the top five countries in the world at providing higher education (Universitas 21 Ranking 2017),” she said.
“Swedes themselves have the second highest proficiency in English as a second language (2017 Education First English Proficiency Index) with many degrees being taught in English.”
Students are attracted to the style of teaching, she added.
“They are encouraged to think independently, creatively and critically and question what they are being told. Sweden’s status as a leader in innovation and a home of trendsetters and early adopters has been long held. Students find this a real point of differentiation.”
CEG now has 16 pathway centres across the UK, the EU and the US.
In 2018 over 26,000 international students are studying in Sweden.
