The British Columbia Council for International Education has handed out six awards to international education professionals and experts based in British Columbia at its summer conference held in Vancouver.

The six awards recognised successful marketing campaigns, outstanding international education programs, up-and-coming talent and senior leaders who have effected change in the sector.

“It’s a testament to the quality of people working in the international education field in British Columbia”

Independent education management professional Gardiner Wilson and ILSC Education Group chairman Paul Zysman were each honoured with an International Education Lifetime Achievement Award.

BCCIE said the award was for long-term contributions and “the far-reaching impacts realised over a career of commitment to British Columbia’s international education sector”.

Sharon Curl, managing director of Oxford International North America/Eurocentres Canada & San Diego, was a member of the awards selection committee.

“The committee had the challenging task to choose from a slate of incredibly talented and exemplary applicants, which is a testament to the quality of people working in the international education field in British Columbia,” she said.

“It is truly fantastic that BCCIE has created these awards to honour individuals, institutions and programs for their work in our sector.”
