Agents Research Launch

A Partnership for Quality: A Route to a UK Quality Framework with Education Agents

The PIE is hosting the launch of the BUILA/UKCISA agent's research on Tuesday 30 March. If you are an international recruitment provider or education agent working with the UK then this is a must-attend event for you. Please share this event invitation with your agent networks. We look forward to seeing you there.

The BUILA/UKCISA commissioned research plots a roadmap to a deeper and more transparent relationship between the education provider and education agent. When adopted, it will support students using the services of an agent but also strengthen the UK education sector to allow us to compete in an ever-competitive global environment.

The report not only highlights current best practice, and how that might be better shared across the sector, it also contains an analysis of the regulatory framework of competitor countries, such as Australia, USA, Canada, France and New Zealand.

The report concludes with a series of sector-wide recommendations that will be shared with you at this launch event. The research report will be made available at the launch, as too will sector experts to answer any questions you might have.

“The Covid-19 pandemic, and the support students received from education agents, demonstrated to us how important agents are to both the sector and to students. This research has also revealed excellent examples of best practice between universities and education agents that we want to develop and share across the sector.”

Bobby Mehta, Chair, BUILA, Director of UoP Global, University of Portsmouth

“Education agents play a key role in supporting international students and helping them transfer, and settle in, to their studies in the UK. This Framework will help them to deliver an enhanced student-centric service that will benefit the whole sector.”

Anne Marie Graham, Chief Executive, UKCISA

“This report from BUILA and UKCISA outlines clear recommendations that will support universities to increase international student recruitment towards the government’s 600,000 target in a sustainable and responsible manner.”

Vivienne Stern, Director, Universities UK International

"Education agents have always been critical for the success of the UK’s English language teaching sector, and never more so than now. We welcome this opportunity to collaborate with sector partners across the UK’s international education landscape to further support education agents and providers in delivering excellent student experiences."

Jodie Gray, Chief Executive, English UK
