The British Educational Suppliers Association has announced from 2019 it will run an exhibition in Vietnam to give British suppliers a chance to break into new markets.

The show, which will be run in tandem with Giaoducso – a local education software and supplies firm – which will be held in Ho Chi Minh city, in March 2019.

“Vietnam’s exciting vision for education is leading to the development of closer links”

BESA have also secured support from the British government’s department for international trade, which will make grants available to firms which need financial assistance to attend the shows. This will be facilitated through the Tradeshow Access Program.

Caroline Wright, director general of BESA, said the show was a chance to further develop UK-Vietnam relations amid continued growth in the countries education sector.

“Vietnam’s exciting vision for education is leading to the development of closer links and synergies between our two education systems and resources,” she said.

“World-leading UK education suppliers have been working closely with Vietnamese educationalists over recent years and BESS Vietnam will further strengthen these connections.”

William Prieto-Parra, BESA’s head of events, described the event as an “exciting” opportunity for UK businesses to exploit the Vietnamese market “at a time of rapid change”.

Chairman of Giaoducso, BESA’s local partner, said the firm is “honoured” to work with BESA.

“[The show] will provide a bridge for British companies to support and lend their educational expertise to the Vietnamese government as they develop a new curriculum,” Mr Binh said.
